ZHANATAY SHARDENOV
Zhanatay Shardenov was born April 4, 1927 in the village of Kovalenko Tselinograd (Akmola) region. People's artist of Kazakhstan, awarded with the government awards.
In 1949 he graduated from the Alma-Ata art school. He studied at the Leningrad Institute of painting, sculpture and architecture named after I. Repin. In 1955 he returned to Alma-Ata and was actively involved in the artistic life of the Republic.
Work Shardenov can be safely called the masterpieces of the artist, whose work eventually became the subject of special attention of connoisseurs of the Kazakh visual art.
Shardenov is one of the most prominent representatives of the fine arts of Kazakhstan. Unique impasto technique of painting is a bright distinctive feature of the artist. Works are widely represented in museums of Kazakhstan, CIS and abroad, in private collections.
In memory of J. Shardenov named street in Alatau district of Almaty.
